Care Management

If you are managing you own care package, or someone else's, it is necessary to highlight who has the ownership to provide or to fund it.
The following are funding sources which can be included in a care package for purchasing support.
By clicking on the blue subtitles you will be taken to a page with more information, if you have any problems or queries please contact us using the details on our

home page

Direct Payments

If you have been assessed as needing a service from Social Services to meet your care needs, you do not have to accept the limited services offered to you by your Local Authority. Instead, you can receive the cash equivalent of that service as a Direct Payment. This allows you to purchase your own care either by buying in services of your own choice, or employing Personal Assistants who are directly answerable to you. Assistance in becoming an employer, and receiving Direct Payments should be available from your Social Services Direct Payment Scheme - click here to find out whether there is a support scheme in your area! Alternatively contact us using the details on our home page.

Disability Living Allowance

If you have a disability you can apply to the DLA for contributions towards your care, or mobility.

Click on the link to find out more about Disability related benefits that you may be entitled to.

Extra money can be applied for from the ILF to employ assistance for your care needs.

Additional assistance can be sought from access to work through the job centre. This can be used to employ someone to take you to and from work, assist you in your workplace, and to make adaptations to your workplace.

Health Authority
Contributions towards health needs cannot as yet be made as a Direct Payment, although the Health Authority may pay money to the Social Services to help to meet your health needs. We will keep this section updated as and when changes take place.
